TRANSFORMERS

”Transformation is an ongoing process that tends to appear ordinary, when in fact, something extraordinary is taking place.” —Suzy Ross

Well hello friends and fellow readers! I am so happy to be able to share another nugget with you!

I was just thinking about the changes that occur in our every day lives. One day we may appear one way, and at another time we look totally different. That caused me to think about transformers. Yes, transformers. You are a transformer. Had you ever considered that. When we accept Christ into our lives, we become transformed, but we also become transformers.

What are transformers? Well, that depends on which side of the line you’re standing on. The side that I want to talk about is the one that deals with the toy robots that we bought for our children when they were young. Probably many of you remember the movie Transformers. In the movie there were two factions, one was the Autobots (good) and the other was Decepticons (evil). They fought each other endlessly. They had the ability to change into different things, but mainly vehicles.

Note: When we think of our power grids, we often refer to our electrical power source, or transformers. We have recently seen what one being disabled can do. No electricity for hours or even days.

Let’s see what the Bible says about transformers. The Greek word for transformers in Romans 12:2 has the meaning of being changed into another form. It is a total change…”Do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is God’s will—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

As I considered what a transformer does, I began to think of our earthly lives. How many different changes have we made in our lives in order to ‘fit in.’ How are you seen today? Will your friends see the real you, or do they sometimes wonder who the dickens you are.

Life has a way of causing us to present in different ways, depending on the mood or circumstances of that day. How do you want to be seen? Yes, your outer body may change over the years. A little more body, or maybe a little less, and a lot less hair. Your statue may not stand as tall, and your gait may be slower. Your inner man should also have undergone some changes. Others should be able to see Christ’s character in you…love, kindness, compassion.

God is a transformer. He delights in changing our hearts and how we live. If your hangout was in the world, when your friends see you later in life they will probably say, “but I knew you when….” Just smile and say, “yes, but it’s under the blood.” God loves us and we have been transformed.

We’ll talk again late, but until then you’re wished much love, joy, peace and blessings. ~Barbara G

~Yes, your transformation will be hard. Yes, you will feel frightened, messed up and knocked down . Yes, you’ll want to stop. Yes, it’s the best work you’ll ever do.” ~— Robin Sharma
