Choosing My December
I chose my December. What does that mean, you ask? I decided to live my life on purpose despite what the news says. I decided to live out loud and surround myself with positivity. I chose to visit places I would have otherwise avoided. I allowed myself to step out of a comfort that so many of us know. It has been a tremendous blessing, and truthfully, I’m sad that it’s ending. The beautiful thing is it doesn’t have to end. I can now move into 2021 with a new and improved mindset to conquer so many areas God has placed on my heart. I have the gumption to tear down the walls that have separated me from my destiny.
For the whole month of December, I relished in the gardens of Bok Tower Botanical Gardens in Lake Wales, Florida. I visited a historical landmark where Christmas was felt. I took photos in my backyard; I went to the ocean. I took myself to dinner and documented every piece of my December. It was one of the most exhilarating experiences. I implore anyone who struggles with maintaining their joy to choose their December. Your December could be your February or your April. It could be whenever you choose to do it. I decided to do it during a time where seasonal depression can rear its ugly head at least for me. I had so many Kodak moments, and I am thrilled that I will always have them because I chose my December. (Maya)
