WOODFORD’S IN PARIS ~WEEK TWO

Bonjour from the City of Love…

In case you’re wondering YES!!! I am still absolutely head over heels in love with Paris!  This week in addition to sight-seeing, we decided to find different places to have hot chocolate!  In case I didn’t mention it before; Baby it’s cold outside.  However, it’s PARIS, so it’s all good, and for those who know me personally, y’all know your girl is not one for the cold.

Our week of hot chocolate kicked off with a huge laugh, seriously it’s a funny story.  Okay, I can feel you are just biting at the bit to hear about it so hear ya go.

The first place we had hot chocolate was at the pastry shop just steps away from our apartment.  Now let me lead with this, the pastries and breads are on point, they even have chicken quiche which I’ve never heard of.  Okay, back to the hot chocolate we go in make our order and in unison saw the container of Nestle Nesquik being placed on the counter.  We just looked at each other and said nooooo way.  Oh yes way, the nice lady made that Nestle Quick so nicely and served it up with such a smile, all we could do was say merci’ and smile back.

Well, of course things could only go up from there so by the end of the week our hot chocolate stops had elevated to Café George V and let’s just say this, in Champs-Élysées   they were not serving Nestle’s, as reflected in the taste and cost.

In case you’re wondering we did more than drank hot chocolate this week.  We also connected with a couple of cool people we met here in Paris.  One of them was Allen, a young man I met during the Emily in Paris Tour.  We were both doing the tour solo and by the end of the tour, I knew that Allen had come to Paris to celebrate his 30th birthday.  Paris was a dream come true for Allen also.  Well of course I suggested we exchange numbers and meet up again.  Allen joined Charles and I for one of our hot chocolate stops and we had a blast.  So, here’s a fun fact, if you want hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate syrup (fancy hot chocolate) you have to ask for “hot chocolate viennois” which I learned along the way.  After our hot chocolate with Allen, which was delicious, I noticed our waiter taking a really fancy looking hot chocolate to another table.  Of course I inquired about it, and moments later we were being served fancy hot chocolate and Allen received ice-cream since he was the birthday guy!

Our hot chocolate adventures allowed us to explore different areas of Paris.  We were able to check out Luxemburg’s Gardens, the Parthenon and the Petit Palais where we met up with another incredible person, Cindy.  We were introduced to Cindy by a mutual friend and since Cindy lives here in Paris, she agreed to be our guide.  We really enjoyed our time with Cindy, she is a beautiful vibe.  We had an incredible time walking through Paris and admiring the City of Love all lit up.

Charles and I absolutely love being out after dark to see the city all lit up, it’s amazing how beautiful the historical landmarks and fashion houses look at night with the lights on.  Let me tell you this Louis Vuitton and Chanel are serious about their Holiday Lighting, you will not miss either at night because they are shining bright like a diamond.

Another fun fact, I plan to buy some Chanel lipstick for my birthday, RED of course. Well, I found out you have to have an appointment to go to Chanel on 31 Rue which is the original House of Chanel. I am sure they are not making appointments for lipstick only during the holiday season. I ‘ll have to find a Chanel location that doesn’t require an appointment, stay tuned!

There is just so much to do here in Paris and even 30 days doesn’t allow us to take it all in. Charles and I are allowing the journey to flow organically trust that we will see everything that we are meant to see.  Even though it would appear pausing and processing would cut into our time to explore and enjoy Paris, in actuality it allows clarity for us to prioritize and reprioritize what we really do during our time here.  Basically, two weeks in we are comfortable and confident with the metro systems and even when we get on the wrong train or bus, we are able to quickly renavigate back on track.

There are many places still on the drawing board for us to see and experience here in Paris, these last two weeks.  However, Charles and I know that by allowing ourselves to stay in the ease and joy of flow that only time will tell how this adventure will progress.  We will keep the updates coming and expect nothing less than amazing things ahead.  Thank you for reading and stay tuned.

Due to glitches with adding videos to the update posts we have created a playlist on the Love Drops Podcast YouTube Channel with videos from our adventures.  Go check it out now. Click here>>>>> One Love Ambassador European Adventures
